Game is intended to run at 1280x720, if your browser forces the game to run in a full screen, please try changing your resolution for the properly scaled experience. We're new, sorry!!

Press enter or space to advance dialogue, escape to enter menu

Mouse controls - click on a material or assistant to pick it up, click on an empty box to place it. Craft assistants out of the elemental properties of your catalysts and send them to battle to get stronger catalysts.

Each quest may only contain one assistant at a time. Support them with simpler, base minions made of pure elements. Try not to let the time run out while your assistant is on the field, or you'll be forced to abandon it!

You can click a field and drag it around to scroll up or down, or use the mouse wheel

Try to learn the ins and outs of refining and extracting to make the most powerful minions you can, learn the different minions abilities and scaling to plan for more challenging paths.

Let us know what your strongest minion was, and if the difficulty ramped up too far or if you had it on easy mode!

Whelp I played your game through. Honestly I'm terrible with every game and skip tutorials so did the same on this game, and skipped the story  (if the text appeared faster I may of read it) :P, got the 'true ending'.

Realized after you've got auto-saves that's pretty cool, although I don't know how you've got that sorted looks like alphabetically which puts like 10 before 2 and 11 after 10. (and it's useful for seeing the exact stats on my assistants!)

I still don't quite get the Assistant creation like I tried focusing on 2 main elements it got me a guy with 1 atk 1 spirit and 22 speed, it got 1 shotted :P. tried having alot of all the elements I did like a 17 18 8 9 and got a 0 1 2 minion which got 1 shotted lol. My strongest minion was probably one of my lava assistants it had 5 attack 4 speed 8 spirit, that type was just superior to the other ones I got. It has range, was hitting for 50 with an AoE, was slow enough to stay behind elementals, and 1 shotted practically anything. Whereas the mantis would run ahead and get destroyed, or be unable to attack because it was melee until elementals fell, mist/fog horses were decent, but would run too fast getting themselves destroyed. I only got 1 elephant guy he died instantly since he had 1 spirit lol. Looking at the GDD afterward makes it seem like my guys should've had better stats idk, didn't really matter either.

I was complaining to myself about the crystal management though I wish I could see more of them at the same time since I had so many stockpiled but can only see 5 at once. A way to see your assistants before heading out would be nice too.

I can tell a lot of work was put into this and the fact I played it through shows I enjoyed it well enough! All my criticisms are meant to be constructive! So good job, forcing me to play this when I was intending to hop on BG3 lol. Man though is that GDD detailed.

The mechanism for it is actually pretty simple, but I don't think I did a great job explaining it, especially visually. If I'd had more time, I'd have wanted to show the stats being made with an animation or something. The actual mechanism is just... every elemental is made out of the two highest (left to right) elements, so 5,5,1,5 would get you element 1 (fire), element 2(water), making lava. Then, stats are picked by type. Fire goes to strength, water goes to spirit, and then the '3rd' element is the next highest, whatever it happens to be, in this case, air. Then, the last, lowest stat *lowers* each stat. So in this case, it would be 4/4/4. The trick is to get 0 of one element and really high of the remaining 3!

I definitely knew of a few of the bugs but wasn't able to fix them before passing out on the deadline day. Same with overall balance.. earlier drafts actually had the assistants so powerful that they were all you ever needed.

I'm really happy you were willing to spend time on our little game, we all worked really hard on it, I spent so much time on so much code to get it to work, haha. Thank you for detailed feedback, means a lot!

Yup, I enjoyed it and could tell a lot of work was put into it.

lol yea balancing is always rough I thought it was pretty balanced over all though. At best I was clearing 2 lanes at the same time if I checked out the GDD before hand to see the best way to make assistants I probably could've done all 3 lanes, but it wasn't necessary.

Yea I was just scrolling through applications and some reason this one stood out and I was like I'll try it :P
